Learning All the Time

Things I've Learned Caring for my Aging Cats

1. Sometimes breathing through your mouth can transcend the situation.

2. Physical messes on the floor truly are just 'stuff', not worthy of energy or focus.

3. This too shall pass.

4. The control we really have is over how we are and how we process things.

5. When asked 'what rights we have' answer we have the right to love and be loved even when our ears stop hearing, our legs stop moving with ease, and our bodily functions stop working.

6. What's really important is to enjoy each moment as though it were our last.

7. While life is an illusion, we have the opportunity to be here now, live into this moment and appreciate what we have.

8. Sometimes you just need to speak whether someone else can hear you or not.

9. Although the body ages, the heart can remain open and young when we remember to live through it.

10. God is everyone and sees us all with equal eyes.
